Privacy Policy — Naam Jaap

Effective date: 18 September 2026

Short version: Naam Jaap is a fully offline app. It collects no personal data, needs no account, shows no ads, and makes no network connections. Everything you count stays on your phone.

What the app does

Naam Jaap ("the app") is a counter for naam jaap and mantra jaap. You tap once for every jaap, or let the app count at a speed you choose while you chant along. It includes a set of well-known jaap texts, lets you add your own, keeps a history of your counts, and can remind you at the times you choose.

Data collection

The app collects, stores, transmits and shares no personal data whatsoever. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service, and no internet permission in the app. The app cannot send anything off your device.

What stays on your device

Your counts, history, streak, the jaap texts you add, your settings and your reminder times are saved only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are deleted when you uninstall the app, or when you use "Erase all counts and my jaap" in Settings. They never leave your device.

Permissions used

The app has no internet access, no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts and no storage access.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Content note

The preset jaap texts are traditional names and mantras that are freely chanted. The app is an independent tool and is not affiliated with any temple, trust, organisation or religious body.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated and the effective date changed.
